A little bit about Fred Burke... FRED BURKE is one of the most successful real estate investors in the United States today. He offers seminars, mentoring and through his websites and books, also helps students around the U.S. to successfully use his techniques and strategies to change their current financial situations. He helps them get their real estate business started and avoid the pitfalls that come from in-experience. He's a successful man who has made real estate investment his career. But the road to this success was not always sunshine and roses. Growing up in New Jersey, Fred went into the NY stock exchange, and started on the ground floor as a messenger. He soon worked his way up to a Trader Assistant position before deciding that his quality of life and time with his family was more important than chasing other people's money. So, moving to Huston, Texas, he accepted a position as a Regional Director for a major medical company in 1994. But, while the position paid the bills, he also found that his duties meant traveling 8 months out of the year, which still left him with little time to spend with his quickly growing family. He was not happy and looking for a change when, in 1997, he was involved in an on-the-job accident which left him unable to work for over two years. Rather than let this defeat him, he started from scratch, opening a delivery service on a shoe-string. This grew quickly and, within one year, included over 85 sub-contractors and employees. While his company was very profitable, he still found himself working 16+ hours per day, seven days a week. Then two things happened which forced him to make change: September 11, 2001 came, which meant Fred lost many friends who had still worked in the World Trade Center. To Fred, this was much more than a national security breach-- it was also a very personal and sobering experience; and, too, because many local companies began down-sizing in the Houston area, he own business began to suffer. So, once again, Fred began to look for a way to support his family. But this time he was determined to find something that was not only profitable, but also allowed him the quality of life and time with his family that had always been lacking. Uncertain but determined, he came across an advertisement for a real estate investment course. Purchasing that course, he sold his first property within two weeks. And the rest, as they say, is history. In fact, both of his sons, took an interest in his success, wishing to learn the business. As a result his 21-year-old son has already received his Loan Officer's license and his youngest, just out of high school, has just closed his first deal, and plans to continue his real estate investments while attending college. Fred believes that if an 18-year-old, without any money or credit can succeed in real estate investing, anyone can. www.totalfinancialliberty.com
